Australian Systemic Functional Linguistics Association (ASFLA) Conference 2021

The Australian Systemic Functional Linguistics Association (ASFLA) Conference is an annual event which brings together SFL scholars around Australia. The conference welcomes contributions that use any aspect of Systemic Functional Linguistics (e.g., Appraisal Theory) and Legitimation Code Theory.

ASFLA2021 will be hosted by The University of Queensland, from Wednesday 29 September to Friday 1 October.

The theme of ASFLA2021 is Impact: Research, Education, Industry. With this theme, we aim to highlight the real-world implications and applications of linguistic research.

Owing to restrictions and uncertainty around interstate travel created by recent COVID-19 outbreaks, ASFLA2021 will now run in 'hybrid' mode:

Face-to-face sessions will be hosted at UQ St Lucia Campus, for participants who are able to attend in person.
All sessions will also be live-streamed via Zoom (more details to come).
The pre-conference institute has been cancelled.
